Brightlemon London have been chosen by the County Durham Development Company to build a new educational social network which will link school children with industry experts and academia. Utilising the latest social networking and online community principles, the web site will bring young people, businesses and academics together to work on real world projects.

Currently, the project is entitled NETPark Net Junior and is a project associated with NETPark, the UK’s fastest growing science park which develops a community around science, engineering and technology. The award winning agency Drummond Central will be rebranding the project with a new name and logo.

About the NETPark Net Junior social network

NETPark Net Junior will be created as a community website where users can share their experiences, learn about science in enterprise and the opportunities that are available to them. The site will also promote interaction between users, mentors, experts and companies. It will also allow them to collaborate in groups to work on live projects commissioned by companies. Functionality will include:

• Wiki: A concentrated hub of information which users will contribute to.
• Projects: Users will be able to add videos, images and documents associated with specific projects.
• Groups: Like minded individuals will sign up to relevant groups.
• Bulletin board: This will publish news, updates, announcements and opportunities
• Online messaging facility: For users to contact each other
